The Entrepreneurial Training Program or “Entrepreneurship Bootcamp”, organized by the Charles Darwin Foundation (CDF) with the academic support of the EDES Business School of the Technical University of Loja (UTPL), was part of the project Coastal Fishing Initiative - Challenge Fund Ecuador of the World Bank with funding from the Global Environment Facility (GEF). This initiative seeks to define a new shared vision for the Galapagos seafood system.
The entrepreneurship training included 22 hours of study, virtual talks were given in real-time with experts on topics such as formulation of business models, finance for entrepreneurs, business plans, responsible fishing, customer service, and business communication. The trainers were part of the academic staff of the UTPL, among other special guests who presented specific topics.
The participants in this course have been selected because they have business ideas or entrepreneurial initiatives that could contribute positively to the Galapagos seafood system. The most outstanding ideas participating in the training will have special personalized advice to accelerate their development and implementation. Attendees will have access to support networks for entrepreneurship and innovation, such as the Alliance for Entrepreneurship and Innovation (AEI) of which EDES is a part.
