Continuing with the process of co-constructing the vision of the seafood system, a second workshop was held June 16 to 18 2021, with 42 participants from the islands of Isabela, Santa Cruz and San Cristobal, at the Aquelarre farm in Santa Cruz island.
The first day served to strengthen the elements of the vision and then consequently begin to crystallize some of the ideas that would later be materialized. For this part, a very powerful Theory U tool known as 4D Mapping was used. On days two and three, the workshop focused on moving from intention to action, generating prototype ideas that would allow us to implement certain concepts created by the participants based on the needs of the system.
As a result, the workshop produced consensual elements that established a first vision statement of the seafood system of Galapagos, as well as 10 prototype ideas in various fields, that will allow the creation of collaborative spaces to activate certain "blind spots" the system may have, and thus generate substantial changes in the short and medium term.
This process will continue to refine the prototype ideas so that the participants can start to set them in motion.
